| Arrival of Mae and Eve from New Zealand at Schiphol Airport, after some stray luggage troubles. | Checking out the weekly market in oud Woensel, Eindhoven. |
| Visiting Toos. | At the Oosterschelde surge barrier. |
| Taking in the view. | This is what you see. |
| A lonely spare pylon left sitting in the now flooded dry dock where it was built. | The rest of them were used elsewhere. |
| The visitors centre. | A cast of a roman altar to the sea-goddess Nehalenna, which was dredged up from the Oosterschelde. The artificial island that was used to construct the surge barrier and that now houses the exhibition was named "Neeltje Jans" after her. |
| Ancient plans of a windmill. | An overview of a model of the surge barrier. |
| A piece of rebar similar to the ones used in the pylons. | A analogue computer named Deltar was used to calculate the tides. |
| A skeleton of a mastodon also dredged up from the oosterschelde. | Seals. |
| A water playground for kids. | A whale skeleton and some whale models. |
| A side view of the spare pylon. | The island Neeltje Jans also contains some huge modern windmills used to generate electricity. |
| Footsteps in the sand. | Been there, done that. |
| A deserted windy beach. | The size of the windmill is illustrated by the cars standing next to it. |
| The Raststätte at the Mosel valley. | This huge bridge stands 136 meter over the water. The steel beams holding the road deck ar between 6 and 7,5 meters tall. The pillars are hollow, with a 30 cm concrete wall. Yet more than 11000 cubic meters of concrete was needed to build them. |
| The valley to the right of the bridge. | Rowing boats on the Mosel river below. |
| A kind of monorail is used to get to the grapevines planted on the steep slopes. | The view from our hotel room in the Black Forest, as the sun sets. |
| Eating lunch at the quay of Überlingen on the Bodensee. | Buildings on the waterfront in the distance. |
| Divers turn left. ;-) | View to the left. |
| Walking into the Hafenstraße in Überlingen. | The market of Überlingen. |
| A fountain with a statue of a knight in armour. | An ancient statue under an elaborate roof. |
| The Luziengasse. | A sleeping cabin inside a replica of the airship LZ129 Hindenburg in the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen. Note how everything is made from light materials like aluminum. |
| The observation lounge inside the replica. You can't appreciate the size of this airship from the picture. The replica part is 33 meters long. The entire airship was three times as long as the entire museum. | View from the other side. |
| Engines and other equipment used in airships. | Taking the ferry from Meersburg to Konstanz. |
| Fresco inside the St. Georg church on the island of Reichenau. | View towards the exit. |

| The Gref Zeppelin Gaststätte in Konstanz. | The church tower. |
| The remains of a Roman Castrum. | Mae with our host in Allensbach, Mrs. Schilling. |
| A scene of soldiers leaving to go to war depicted on a building. | Cake in Stein am Rhein, since it was pouring with rain outside. |
| The convent at Einsiedeln in appalling weather. | Looking over the Zürichsee |
| A small island in the Zürichsee. | Same as above. |
| A close-up of the shot above. | Water washing over the beach of the Zürichsee at Pfäffikon. |
| Viewing away from the lake. | A old fortified tower near the shore in Pfäffikon. |
| View of the tower from the entrance. | Standing next to the chapel that stands alongside the tower. |
| Houses reflected in the moat. | Mae with uncle Lourens. |

| Coming toward the end of the first stage. | The sommer-rodelbahn on the slope of the Pilatus. |
| The last stage of the ascent; the second cable-car climbing toward a mast. | A view of the Vierwaldstättersee. |
| Nearing the tower. There is a gut-wrenching drop on the other side. Note the other car descending. | Coming up on the arrival. |
| You can see the cables of the cable-car descending in the mist. | Birds at altitude. |
| It's cold and foggy at 2132 meters! | The train track to the restaurant. Note the two cyclists walking the last stretch. |
| The train ascending. Note how fast the fog has cleared. | Mae was here. |
| Going down. | Nice Gasthaus on the slope. |
| Arriving at the end of the upper stage. | Further down in the other cable-car. |
| Clouds filtering the sunlight over the mountains. | The huge trees dwarf the cable cars. |
| A family picture around the dinner table. | Oma & granddaughters. |
